Description: On Holy Island, this castle was built to protect the area against all comers. Converted into a baronial style home in 1903, by Sir Edwin Lutyens it now has a beautiful interior of antique Flemish and English furniture, porcelain and brass.

How to get there:
Safe crossing times.
By car: Turn left, off the A1 south of Berwick upon Tweed, along the road signposted Beal and Holy Island. Car parks on the island.
By public transport: Regular bus service from Berwick upon Tweed
Seasonal opening details (2005):
12th to 20th February, 12th March to 30th October, Tuesdays to Sunday.
Opening Hours:
As Lindisfarne is a tidal island, times vary so that visitors may reach the island at low tide � the castle is open for just over 4 hrs and always 12noon to 3pm.
Facilities:
Parking is about 1 mile from the Castle. No toilets on site.

Adult �5, Child �2.50, Family (2+2 under 17) �12.50.
