The research facility for those interested in Border Heritage, Local History, Tracing their Border Ancestors or Researching the History of their Homes.

Please note that from Spring 2007 the Scottish Borders Archive and Local History Centre will be based at the Heritage Hub in Hawick.
In preparation for the move, amended opening times at St Mary's Mill will be in operation from October 2006.

How to get there:
By car: In the former Mill area of Selkirk. Turn off the A7 at Selkirk Glass on the north side of Selkirk, follow Dunsdale Road and turn right about 200 yards along. Signposted. Car parking.
By public transport: Short walk from the main bus route between Selkirk and Galashiels.

Seasonal opening details:
All year.

Opening Hours: Until October 2nd 2006
Monday to Thursday 9am to 1pm, 2pm to 5pm.
Friday 9am to 1pm, 2pm to 3.30pm.

From October 2nd till December 22nd 2006
Mondays 9am till 5pm, Thursdays 9am till 5pm

From 22nd December 2006 until Re-opening in Hawick - Spring 2007 CLOSED

Facilities:
Study room with Microfilm and microfiche readers, public access computer to specialist web sites and CD Roms. Advice on sources relevant to your research and assistance with the mechanics of using the equipment.
Initial assistance is given to postal, phone and e-mail enquiries at no cost.

Additional Information
There is also a paid postal research service for a more detailed response to enquiries � at a charge of �15 per hour. The research is carried out using the resources held at the Centre. You will be sent a detailed report on items consulted and the findings made, together with printouts/photocopies of relevant material.
