This is the house built and lived in by Sir Walter Scott, novelist and author of timeless classics. The house has a fine collection of historic relics, weapons and armour, and a large library of rare volumes.

How to get there:
By car: Lies between Melrose and Galashiels. On the B6360 which leaves the A6091, Melrose to Galashiels road some 2 miles from Melrose. Signposted.
By public transport: Regular bus services, Melrose to Galashiels, pass the road end. Short walk to the house.

20th March to 31st October.
[November to March by arrangement - Mondays to Fridays only]

Opening Hours:
Daily.
House & Tearoom
Monday to Saturday - 9.30am to 5pm.
Sundays: March, April, May and October � 2pm to 5pm.
June to September � 9.30am to 5pm.

Facilities:
Tearoom & Gift Shop � opening hours as for house.
Picnic Area
Disabled car parking via the private entrance 200 yards west of the main car park.
Toilets (inc Disabled)

Admission:
Adult: �5, Child �2.50
Group rates �3.90 and �1.95.
