Description: Dominating the Northumberland coastline, south of Lindisfarne, Bamburgh Castle is the home of the Armstrong family. Open to the public are the King�s Hall, the Cross hall, reception rooms, the Bakehouse as well as the Armoury and the Dungeon. Restored many times, the original castle dates from Anglo-Saxon times. At present, the Bamburgh Research Project is excavating near to the castle, investigating the story of the area through the last 3000 years.

How to get there: By car: Turn off the A1 about 13 miles south of Berwick-upon-Tweed, just south of Belford and travel along the B1342 about 5 miles to Bamburgh Village. Castle just beyond the Village � visible for miles. By public transport: Regular bus service from Berwick-upon-Tweed to the village.
Seasonal opening details (2005): 12th March to 31st October inclusive.
Opening Hours: Daily opening 11am to 4.30pm.
Facilities: Car park � opens at 10.30am. Public Tours arranged for groups of 12 or more.
Admission: Individuals: Adults �5.50, Children �2.50, OAP�s �4.50. Under 6 years old - free. Groups Rates available.
