Description: The Lindisfarne Heritage Centre is the base for information on the Lindisfarne Gospels. An interactive program allows you to turn the pages of the 'virtual' Gospel, and, newly arrived, is a limited edition facsimile of the Lindisfarne Gospels donated by the British Library, along with an accompanying exhibition.
New for 2005 The Lindisfarne Gospel Quilt with its 64,000 stitches and over 200 yards of gold cord. A must for embroiderers!

How to get there: In Marygate By car: Access across the tidal causeway is from the A1 at Beal, 8 miles south of Berwick upon Tweed. Signposted. Parking on the island is strictly controlled. By public transport: There is a bus service from Berwick upon Tweed to Holy Island.
Seasonal opening details (2004): All year
Opening Hours: The island, being across the tidal causeway, is cut off twice each day. Safe crossing times. Normal opening - Summer - 10am to 5pm. Winter - 10am to 4pm.
